Day 1Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to Kaziranga
You will be met on your arrival at Guwahati airport and transferred to Kaziranga by road(220 kms/5 hrs). Kaziranga National Park, spread over an area of 430 sq kms, is a World Heritage site, and the most famous National park in Eastern India. The Kaziranga National park, in addition to being one of India’s Project Tiger Reserves, is mainly famous for the Great Indian one horned rhinoceros. Kaziranga’s landscape of sheer forests with tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes & shallow pools, all add to it’s attractiveness. In addition to having the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, Kazirange is also home to several other mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. On your arrival in Kaziranga check into the Diphlu River Lodge. The Diphlu River lodge, located just at the edge of the Kaziranga National Park, is the finest place to stay in this area. The lodge offers comfortable accommodation and facilities, and maginificent views of the river and the National park. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 2In Kaziranga
Your safari in Kaziranga, begins with a exciting one hour Elephant ride through the National Park, giving you an excellent introduction to the Park, and an opportunity to see one horned rhino, wild elephant, Indian bison, swampdeer, samba, hogdeer, tiger, leopard, jungle cat, capped langoor, etc. Your next safari in Kaziranga will be a Jeep ride through the central range of the Park, with the possibility of sighting elephants as well as the other Mega herbivores and the famous Rhino. Afternoon, another Jeep safari through the Western range of the National Park, an area that has shorter grass, and considered to be an optimum habitat for Rhino and Water Buffalo. Day 3In Kaziranga
Another day of Safaris in Kaziranga, with another exiciting Elephant ride in the morning, and a Jeep safari, this time to the Eastern range of the Park, which is considered excellent for birding. A large variety of rare birds can be spotted here, including the globally threatened Pallas's Fish Eagle and Spot-billed Pelicans. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 4Kaziranga-Manas
After breakfast, depart for Manas National Park by road (350 kms/08 hrs). Manas National Park situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, is also a World Heritage site. Manas National Park is the second Project Tiger Reserve in Assam, and is home to endangered and rare species of as many as 55 species of mammals, including Tigers, Rhinos, Elephants, Wild Buffalo, Gaur, Hog Deer, etc. Manas is also home to 50 species of endangered reptiles and almost 400 species of Birds, including 3 species of amphibians. On your arrival in Manas, check-into the Bansbari Lodge. The Bansbari lodge, situated right at the entrance of the Manas National park, with tea gardens on one side, jungle and views of the Himalayan foothills on the other, is certainly the finest place to stay in this area, and to discover the Manas National Park Overnight in Manas.
Day 5In Manas
The day begins with an early morning Elephant safari in to Manas National Park. It is a busy day of safaris in Manas, with first a nature walk through the National park, followed by a Jeep safari and later even a guided walk to the Mathanguri Point on the Bhutan border, an area famous for sighting of Golden Langurs. Overnight in Manas.
Day 6Manas – Guwahati and Depart
Your wildlife safari in Eastern India comes to an end with a transfer back to Guwahati Airport (180 kms/4 ½ hrs) intime to board your flight home.
